Sofía asks the difference between preventive and predictive maintenance. The reply is taken only from approved course material. Admin decides whether AI is on, whether answers stay inside approved content, and whether sources are visible.

What is the difference between preventive and predictive maintenance?

Preventive maintenance is time- or usage-based work planned before failure — oil, filters, inspections on a calendar or meter. Predictive maintenance uses condition (vibration, temperature, oil analysis) to intervene when the asset shows a developing fault. Both live on the same plan; they are not the same trigger.
